Vocal Performance for Musical Theatre: Belting and Beyond

This dynamic vocal performance class is designed for teen singers eager to explore the art of musical theatre singing, with a special focus on the technique of belting. Through weekly lessons, students will learn how to belt safely and effectively, understanding both when to use this powerful technique and how to protect their voices.
The course will cover vocal exercises, warm-ups, and song repertoire from iconic Broadway musicals, helping students develop their vocal range, strength, and stage presence. Emphasis will be placed on character-driven performance, allowing teens to explore the nuances of portraying different roles through song.
Throughout the semester, students will refine their skills in a supportive and creative environment, preparing for a final showcase titled Villains and Misfits. This Broadway-themed performance will highlight the unforgettable characters that define musical theatre, offering students the chance to shine as they showcase their vocal abilities in full costume and character.
